| Steel breeze, the taste of salt air and the ocean swells. Well worn timber planks and pylons stand alone to bare witness. Maybe smugglers, treasure hunters, fisherman or kids crabbing. Today it’s the wind and the art of David J. Rogers, a local northern Californian artist. This web page is made up of 1,410 individual gif animations running simultaneously to create the digital illusion of ocean swells rolling beneath an old pier. The effect is achieved with 12 different gif animation files, all consisting of 12 frames, and each one starts one step off of the prier one. So, 1, 13, and 25 would be the same file and so on. This gallery has the standard features: the gallery’s title links you to this Review Page, the artist’s name links you to their Biography Page, and as in all of the galleries the exhibits images themselves will link you to another page with details about that particular work of art along with larger views. |
